About Amanda

Background

Before training to become a make up artist, Amanda worked as a professional model and has had first hand experience of  how to show off make up professionally on and off camera.   During her modelling career Amanda qualified in Bridal Entourage, Day, Evening, Television and Film makeup attending a private college in Manchester. Amanda was trained using Graftobian, Ben Nye, Mary Cohr, Celebre, Kanebo, Mehron and Elizabeth Arden.  Amanda then started working immediately as a professional make up artist for a local photographer before landing a contract with Steiner London as the makeup artist on board the prestigeous QE2.

Make Up Artist

Amanda has been a professional make up artist since 1994 and during those years she has provided professional make overs to hundreds of models/clients in the UK and overseas in places such as New York, Miami, Mexico, Caribbean, Italy, Spain, and  London.  Amanda has brushed shoulders with the rich and famous, such as Mandy Smith, writer Alan Bleasdale, Andrew Castle and Rod Stewart to name a few.  She has worked along side Photographers and Videographers, film crews, hairdressers, costume designers, the media and magazine company's.

Knowledge and Experience

She has extensive knowledge, training and experience in beauty, cosmetics, skin care and nutrition. Amanda had also completed her training with Steiner UK and was personally trained in skin care and facial massage by Noella Gabrielle herself, founder and owner of Elemis Skin Care Products.

Shortly after returning from Miami where she worked quayside and on-board cruise ships as a make up artist, Amanda was then offered a positon to work in the treatment rooms at the famous tennis and fitness centre.....David Lloyd, Finchley, North London.

Amanda enjoyed her time at the centre and had also decided to learn more about the skin, body, health, nutrition and fitness and whilst working as a MUA she took part in various training courses approved by NABBA and provided by FOCUS, Amanda received a 'Distinction' and became a 'Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer'

Columnist

Understanding all areas of health, fitness, beauty, nutrition, skin care and make up application, Amanda became columnist for on-line magazines and newspapers such as the Western Mail, Carmarthen Journal, Llanelli Star, Evening Post and The Wedding Planner, providing articles of interest and answers to all our make up questions.

Former Model Agent 

During her time as a model agent (2006 to 2012) Amanda has trained over 500 models, has assisted and provided advice to models on health issues, skin care, how to look good and how to apply make up.

Amanda has successfully trained members of the public to become promotional staff via her training academy and she has educated people about the modelling industry.  Amanda was also able to demonstrate how to apply make-up for photographic purposes.

Teacher

Over the years, make up demonstrations and informative talks became a daily routine for Amanda.  She provided the necessary training that her students and clients required when learning about make up application.  More recently Amanda has provided professional make up training to both students and teachers based at colleges in South Wales. 

Today

Amanda continues to provide an excellent make up service and is training and teaching throughout Wales.
